It is mounted on the boot bulkhead below the lh speaker. Neither the window nor roof switches work nor do i get the usual warning tones when i press them. I had an intemittent issue with the electric hood of my 1998 bmw z3. The ussual fault is the rotary switch in the boot on the end of the roof mechanism.

The abs pump in my version of the 206cc controls the speedo hence when the car logged the abs fault think it was a communication fault the car ecu could not determine the speed accurately and would not open the roof. It is really easy to replace but a pain to set up not really the job for an amature to do. Turn off the ignition wait 30 seconds then try again if this does not work you have to read the manual and it says open the boot and pull the string on the parcel shelf find the allen key in tool. Cheaper than the manufacturer.

Check wiring connections and for moisture corrosion. Most roof problems are not due to the roof ecu but it sounds as if this one probably is.
